Mobile app for splitting trip expenses with friends. OCR your receipts, split fairly, get paid back. Shipped to the App Store.
Divy came out of a real annoyance: every time I went on a trip with friends, somebody ended up holding the bill, somebody else forgot to Venmo, and the math never quite worked out. I wanted to fix that with OCR — snap the receipt, the app figures out who owes what, and it’s actually fun to use.
I built it in Flutter. The backend got rebuilt three times before the third one stuck — divy-backend → divy-backend-new → divy-flutter-backend — six months on the version that worked. The app made it onto the iOS App Store.
I never scaled it. But it’s out there, and I learned how to ship a real mobile app from zero. That’s worth something.
